Decorating for Christmas

 On Tuesday night, we decided to decorate our tree after dada got home from work.  Mama and Lil G made popcorn for dinner (healthy :o).  After an early bath and jammies, we spent the evening putting the ornaments up on the tree.  Lil G was so excited to help!  We even pulled over his step-stool so that he could reach higher on the tree.

Dada helped Lil G put the ornaments on, when they were too high for him to reach.  They perfected a Superman-style application procedure.

Thanksgiving Pt. 3

After naptime on Saturday, we headed out to the nursing home to have Thanksgiving dessert with Great Grandma Ann (Fish).  We brought two kinds of pie, cobbler, three kinds of whipped topping and coffee.  Never say we don't come prepared! 

 Great Grandma was so surprised to see us all and was genuinely delighted to see her only great grandson.  Lil G loved walking around and saying "hi" to everyone and showing mama and dada the ropes- Lil G visits almost weekly with Opa and Gogie but mama and dada had never been before.

 Lil G and his Great Grandma have such a wonderful bond.  We are so blessed to have her so nearby.

Thanksgiving Pt. 2

 On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we headed to the Fish family celebration at Opa and Gogie's (Paul and Kathryn's) house.  We ate a delicious lunch with everyone, including Uncle Andrew.  There were lots of snuggles, laughs and leftovers!

We even had time to sneak in a family portrait!

Thanksgiving Pt. 1

On Thanksgiving day, we celebrated with the White side of the family.  Poppa, Tutu (James and Brenda) and Uncle Rodger came over for Thanksgiving dinner. Lil G was very excited to get to eat with everyone and to wear the hat that he made in school.  He was very good about trying all the food, which is quite a feat for him.  

 After dinner, it was definitely time for some mama-snuggles.

Lil G loves to play on Poppa's iPad.  They are so sweet together.

Shoes, Shoes, SHOES!

On Saturday, Lil G took a lot of time out of his busy schedule to try on all the shoes that mama and dada own.  He then insisted that dada take a picture of him in each pair, stating again and again, "I so silly, dada!"

It is so lovely to be around so much adorableness, day in and day out.

Flowers

 On Thursday, Lil G spent the day with his Opa and Gogie again, while mama recuperated from her illness.  When he came home, he brought a beautiful bouquet of "flowers", made out of paper, buttons and straws.  He was so very proud and he made his mama smile :-)

Apparently, Lil G thinks that you pose with things in front of your face.  A lot. 

Warm Fuzzies

Such a Sweetie!

Today, da mama came down with a wicked sinus infection. Truth be told, it's probably been settling in for awhile.  Anyway, Lil G got to spend the whole day with his Opa and Gogie (his Fish family grandparents).  I missed him so much!  He drives me batty sometimes but I just couldn't stop thinking about Lil G hugs all day.

When he came home, he gave mama such a sweet gift- a giant plastic flower!  He was so proud of his gift, and kept telling me all the colors and how "it make mama feel better".  And, you know what?  It surely did!

   

And, your eyes do not deceive you--the beautiful flower also doubles as a fly-swatter.  Presumably, to swat mama's sinus infection "bug".

The Saddest boy in the World

Lil G had a rough evening.  He ate a delicious dinner and had a small treat and then wanted another treat.

Wii!

 This week, we introduced Lil G to the wonders of the Wii.  We had multiple rainy days, where we were stuck inside so Greg and I decided to let Lil G get out some of his energy through Wii bowling. He is really great at the game! He is actually better than me.  It's nice that we have something to help the little man get out excess energy during the coming winter months.

Festival of Trees

This weekend, I took Lil G to the festival of trees, so that Greg could continue to work on our basement, in order to prepare for baby Minnow.  We were blessed enough to go with good friends, J, N and G.  The festival was fun, though a little overwhelming (especially with four kiddos).  The kids had a good time looking at the trees and Lil G got his very first balloon "animal" (which was actually a balloon hat).  And, the best part was that Greg and his friend were able to get a lot of the basement done!!

Wordless Wednesday

Sympathetic pregnancy

Today, da mama had a doctor's appointment to check on Lil Minnow.  Lil G and Greg came, so that they could see the baby too.  Lil G wasn't terribly interested in the sonogram but did love seeing the pictures shoot out of the machine. 

 
After that, Lil G got to spend some time with his Opa and Gogie.  When he came home, he spent a lot of time showing mama his new bunny ears.









He then decided to show mama where he keeps HIS baby (he is having quite the sympathetic pregnancy).

Lil G loves it when we take his photo.  "You take my picture, mama?"  And, we love the fact that he is still very natural in front of the camera (not cheesing it up, like so many toddlers).  On Saturday, he politely asked if he could take pictures with our nice camera.  Greg and I were a little hesitant but he did a very good job of using the camera without putting his hands or fingers on the lenses.  Here are a few of his fabulous photos!

Zebra Hat!

A few days ago, I let Lil G look at hats online with me.  I was trying to let him pick a winter hat and told him that he could pick from the frog, the zebra or the raccoon hats.  He immediately decided that the zebra hat was the one for him.  I told him that I would order it for him and thought that was that.  Now, I know kids.  I know them pretty well, in fact.  Why I thought that the lil man would understand the concept of ordering something, I'll never understand. 

Lil G spent the rest of the afternoon looking in the dryer over and over.  And over. And over.  Again.  He apparently believes that the dryer is where online hats are delivered.


Needless to say, that evening, I ran out to the store to buy him the hat.  I didn't want to keep repeating the same scenerio.  He adores his new hat and wears it all the time.  And, he looks pretty cute in it, if I do say so myself.
