Open Gym

Yesterday it was once again cold and "blah" around here.  So, Lil G and I headed to the local gymnastics place, to run off some energy during open gym.  We had not been to this particular gym for about a year, so he was pretty excited to see all the things to play on. 

He was pretty bummed when open gym was over, though.  He kept telling me, "It so sad that they are closing".  Next time, buddy.  Next time.

Robot stickers

 Many of you know that Lil G is obsessed with "Bobots". That's "Robots" to the rest of us.  He was so excited to find robots in the dollar section of Target the other day.  Specifically, they had robot window stickers, for Valentine's Day.  

I came in from the kitchen the other morning to find that he had pulled over his chair and was meticulously rearranging the stickers.  They needed to be just so.

 "Look, mama!  A robot!"

When dada came home from work, he informed Lil G that the stickers would also stick on the aquarium.  Lil G was so stoked that the fishes could "watch my robots for me."

Apparently, the whole process was really funny.

Lil G's new chair!

 We've been working on Lil G's "big boy" room, so that he can vacate the nursery before the new babe arrives.  He is super excited to move into his new room, once the stars align and we actually get everything moved around!

This weekend, we got a new chair for Lil G's room while we were away on our little parent's vacation.  He was so excited to come in and find the new chair in the living room and doubly excited when we told him that it was going to move into his new room!

Swimmin' Fish

On Thursday, Lil G had his first swimming lesson WITHOUT mama.  He had to go into the pool with just his teacher.  He also had to wait patiently on the side of the pool for his turn--quite a feat for a toddler!  

He did great!  He was a good listener and showed again how fearless he is in the pool.

First real snow of the year

On Thursday, we had the first significant snowfall of the year.  This was quite a blow to mama, since on Wednesday, it was 50 degrees and we were playing at a park!

Lil G talked about the snow ALL. DAY. LONG.  

He kept asking if he could go out and make a snowman.  Mama wanted to wait until the blowing snow died down a bit.  So, after dada came home (early) we headed out to play in the frosty air.

Lil G was a bit disappointed that the snow is not snowman-worthy.  He had been talking all day about making a snowperson, complete with carrot nose and stick arms.  Dada explained that the snow was too dry to make into a snowman. Lil G cheered up pretty quickly, after dada let him help shovel the walk!

Dada and Lil G worked hard to clear the walk.  Mama hid inside the garage and took pictures :-)

Bicycle

 This January (so far) has been unseasonably warm.  We've spent lots of time at parks and the zoo so far!  On Tuesday, Lil G repeatedly asked on the way home from school to ride his bike.  So, after naptime, we went outside for fun on the bicycle!  

Lil G is getting much better at riding his Strider bike (cortesy of his Great Uncle Pooh).  He even glides on it occasionally now! 

 Lil G spent a lot of time trying to work out how to ring his bell.  He even looked at me and told me that "it need more ba-er-ees".  I told him that the bell doesn't use batteries and after a little more effort, he got it down!

Sunday Funday

 Sunday is a day for family and going to church.  Apparently, Sunday was also the day that Lil G decided to pick out his own clothes and dada decided to just go with it! 

You can see that he picked a shirt that once belonged to dada that was two sizes too small!  Only a two-year-old can pull this off.
