Slidin' Along Just Fine

Gavin is growing up so fast! He is really blossoming and seems to be getting bigger every day. Today at the park, Gavin discovered the joys of sliding. Now, he has been on slides before but today he went down SLIDES. As in, slides big enough for mommy to fit down. In fact, he chose to send himself down one side that I felt was too big for him. He made it to the bottom just fine but was clearly a little shaken :-) After that, we decided to stick with the tall slide that is enclosed. He enjoyed climbing up the stairs to the top of the slide and then diving down to mommy at the bottom.

Update

Well, I'm sure that you all logged onto the site to see more pictures of the cutie little baby. Alas, I have none right now. Well...I have some but I am behind in posting them. But, I thought that you all might want an update on Lil G, even if there aren't pics right now.

1. Gavin, at 13 and a half months old, is not walking but he is working toward that milestone every day. He occasionally stands unsupported (pulls up on something and then lets go) and is experimenting with different ways to get into a standing position. He crawls absolutely everywhere and is FAST.

2. Gavin has mastered crawling UP the stairs. He stumbles backward at times and is not proficient at coming DOWN the stairs. His method for descending appears to involve rolling and saying a prayer.

3. Words. Gavin is getting better at saying words, though they are not clear yet. He says Dada, Mama pretty well, though he tends to make them "longer" than needed (e.g. Dadadada). He repeats words a lot, including "Choochoo" and "Thank you"

4. We still have a somewhat adventurous eater, though he very clearly has preferences. Fruit is ALWAYS acceptable with cheese close behind. He loves peas and corn and surprisingly, tofu.

Overall, Gavin is a healthy, happy little guy and is changing every day. He makes my life a joy.

St. Patrick's Day festive socks

Gavin wore his St. Patty's socks, given to him by Mary Anne and his Great-Grandpa Bud. He got the socks last year but they fit him this year!

Birthday Party Redo and Evening playtime.

We were so sorry that Poppa and Tutu could not come to Gavin's first birthday party, due to illness. Greg and I decided to have the party again a week later and try and recreate some of the magic. I think that everyone had a very good time, the second time around. Uncle Rodger even came back into town for a second weekend in a row!

Gavin and daddy always spend time playing together after Greg gets home from work. I treasure the time they have together, because they have such a wonderful bond. It is priceless to watch them interact each evening.
