Father's Day

 We had a pretty mellow father's day. We went to church and then Greg took Lil G to the park to ride his bike. After lunch and nap, we did some grocery shopping and stopped by to say hi to Opa (Greg's dad).  All in all, it was a wonderful day and was a great reminder of the blessings in our world.

Bonnet

 Ironically, though Smunchie is in the 90th percentile for head size, it is impossible to find a hat that fits her, that actually shields her head from the sun.  So, I (Erin) decided to make one.  It has flowers on one side and reverses to have polka dots on the other.  A big thanks to Made by Rae  for the wonderful pattern!

And, finally...a baby who is tired of trying on bonnets.

Child Dedication

On Sunday June 3rd, we had Smunchie and Lil G dedicated at church.  Well, truthfully, we dedicated ourselves to raise our children in Christ.  The ceremony was short and a little stressful, as Lil G was pretty excited.  Smunchie, on the other hand, chose to sleep through the entire process.

After the dedication, we had a small get-together at a park with friends and family to celebrate.  Lil G was glad to play with his friends.

Classic Wear

 On Sunday, we decided to dedicate Smunchie and Lil G at the Child Dedication Service at church.  As their parents, we are committed to raising our children to be good, godly people, who find joy in praising the Lord.  We don't have the pics from the service yet (since we were IN the service and could not take pictures) but here are a few pics of Smunchie in the meantime.  She wore a special dress for the occasion: one from when her mommy was little!  She also wore her special, name shoes for the special day.

After the service, she was all smiles, so we snapped a few pics.  She gave the biggest smile to her daddy :-)  All these pictures were taken when Smunchie was 8 weeks old.

And, for comparison's sake, here is a picture of me (Erin) in the same dress, taken when I was 12 weeks old. 

Riding the Rails

 On Friday June 1st, Lil G (and Smunchie) went on their very first train rides!  Lil G was super excited to ride the train with his friends.  We went together with a bunch of friends from my local mom's group on the train to a nearby small town. Then, we played at a nearby park and caught the train home. 

Lil G had a bit of a hard time on the train.  He was so excited that he had a hard time listening to mama.  This caused mama to have some stress, trying to corral a three year old and appear a newborn.  But, it was all worth it.  He had a great time and we look forward to going back sometime with daddy.

Birthday Playtime

 A few weeks ago, we went to a birthday party for a sweet little girl who was turning 4.  It was so nice, because Lil G loves his friend "A" and her little brother, "N".  The kids had a blast playing outside, making crowns, getting balloon animals and eating cookie-cake and homemade ice cream.

The kids had a blast playing with water balloons on the parachute.  Lil G kept ending up with all the balloons popping right by him!

 The kids did a water race.  They had to fill sponges with water and then empty them into a bucket.  The kids loved it!
