Kids Run for Fun

 This year, we decided to have Lil G do the "Lake Run Kids Run for Fun" event.  It occurs weekly throughout the summer;  however, Lil G always went to bed too early to participate!  We thought it would be good to let him run with kids, in an event that is not a race, since as of late, he has been having trouble accepting when he does not "win".

 Time to race! Daddy ran with Lil G, though he repeatedly asked to run alone.  Mama was a little concerned about him running all around a track by himself! 

Everyone who runs the race gets a ribbon for participating.  Lil G did great!  He started at the back of the pack and by the end of his lap, he was near the front!  I was so proud of him, though, b/c he didn't mention that he "won" at all!

Sunday Funday

 This was just a typical Sunday, where Lil G decided to ride his bike and car in the alley behind our house.  He is so thrilled with the warmer weather!

"Look mama!  It's my Nemo shirt" (aka- his orange and white shirt).

 Lil G still cannot quite reach the pedals on his big wheel. Thus, he cruises down the driveway and pushes it back up, to go again!

6 week update

 We tried to get a picture of just Smunchie.  Lil G was having none of that!  He adores his little sister so much.

And finally, here is a comparison picture of Smunchie next to her giraffe.  I had intended to do one when Smunchie was newly born but alas, time got away from me.  We'll try and take pictures periodically to document how much she is growing.

Weight- 11 pounds, 13 ounces

Mother's Day

This last Sunday was Mother's day.  My fourth Mother's day as a mom, as a matter of fact.  As is our tradition, we took pictures of mama, with all her kiddos, even though Lil G was having trouble complying and Smunchie was a little fussy.  But, these are definitely snapshots of our life--not quite perfect, but ideal anyway. 

Love you, my little people.  You are two of the best things in my world. 

Impromptu trip

 On Saturday, we decided to take an impromptu trip to the Children's Museum of Illinois.  Despite Greg having worked in Decatur for years, we had actually never been!  The trip went wonderfully, despite the fact that Lil G had to miss his nap (an incredibly rare occurrence) and Smunchie insisted on nursing almost the entire time.  Lil G had a blast with all the exhibits and we will be sure to go back again soon.

There was a pretty cool climbing area right inside the front doors.  Not quite as ornate as the one at our local CDM, but still fun!

 The bubble area was quite a hit with our little bubble maniac!

Lil G enjoyed the grocery shopping area. It was pretty cool b/c there were a lot of brands that he was used to seeing AND they had carts to push around!  He also loved restocking all the shelves, writing checks and pretending that he was the teller at the bank.

Lil G got to sit with Ronald McDonald.  He wasn't really sure who he was but thought he was "so, so funny!"

 Lil G got to ride in the stroller for a bit, since Smunchie was nursing so much and we needed to go upstairs in the elevator.  He had to really squeeze to fit in :-)

 There was an airplane there, that Lil G got to drive AND a control tower for daddy to give instructions.

"Attention daddy- I'm on my way!"

Time for ice cream at the gelato station.

First "Real" Bath

 On April 29th, Smunchie had her first "real" bath.  She loved the whole thing, which was quite a change from her brother!  Now, whenever we need to calm her down, a bath is quite a possibility!

One month old

 Smunchie is one month old and sweet as ever!  We grabbed the camera to commemorate her growth.  It's amazing how much she has changed in just one month!

Newborn Photos

 Here are the photos from Smunchie's newborn photo shoot.  She did a great job working with the photographer, though she was more interested in nursing the whole time!  The photos were taken when she was one week old. Enjoy!
