Corn on the Cob

Gavin had his "first" corn on the cob tonight. I say "first" because he technically had it once before but couldn't figure out how to eat the darn thing and thus, I took the kernals off for him. Tonight, he was able to eat almost an entire 1/2 ear of corn, with no fuss! He is growing up so fast.

Fifteen Months Old

Gavin had his fifteen month check up this week. The doctor said that he is practically perfect in every way. Well, he may have said that he was very healthy....but I could see in his eyes what he REALLY meant.

Gavin is a very active, very strong little boy. He is walking quite steadily now and has achieved almost all milestones that are expected before he turns two! So, he is clearly developing quite normally.

Gavin discovered a very strange game today. It involved placing his hand in a small amount of water and then "bringing" the water to either daddy or mommy.

Vacation to Wisconsin Dells

We went to the Wisconsin Dells from May 12-14 for a family vacation. We had a lovely time playing in the waterparks, despite the fact that Gavin had a touch of croup. Gavin had a great time playing in the kiddie parks and hanging out with mommy and daddy in the big pools. He even went down his first waterslide! It was a family slide, where everyone rides down in a raft. He clearly didn't LOVE the ride but he didn't seem to hate it either. He appeared to be more shell shocked.
After our time in the waterparks, we headed out for our only restaurant visit in the Dells, since we had a kitchen in our hotel room. We went to a local eatery, that was recommended by several people. It was very tasty!

After lunch, we headed to Schaumburg some shopping and more relaxation. We went to the local mall and to Ikea for a looksee. We finally headed home on Saturday May 15th. We were somewhat exhausted but had a lovely time together. It also reaffirmed to us that Gavin is very flexible and an excellent traveling Fish!

Mother's Day

We had a lovely mother's day. It started with Greg and Gavin letting me sleep in...until 10:30! When I came downstairs, there were beautiful flowers on the table. Then, Greg made cinnamon rolls, bacon and eggs for breakfast. We did some loungin' around and I got to open a present. I got a brand new coffee maker! The day was nice and relaxing. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and a little boy who brings me joy every single day.

Gogie's Mother's Day

We celebrated Mothers Day for Gavin's paternal grandmother (Gogie)yesterday. We had a quiet meal and some ice cream cake.

Tutu's Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's day with Gavin's maternal grandmother (Tutu) last weekend. We all went out to eat together. Tutu's present wasn't here yet, so she got her gift today (actual Mother's day). We got her a digital tea kettle, so that she could make teas at precisely the right temperature. Happy mom's day, Tutu!
