Trip to Nauvoo

 A couple of weeks ago, we decided to make the trek to see our extended family, in Nauvoo, IL.  We made the trip in one (long) day.  It was so wonderful because most of the family had never met Smunchie (though they keep up with her on the blog).

While we were there, we went to visit the miniature horses at Doozie's Farm. Here is Lil G, with Great Grandpa Bud in the background.  Smunchie checked out the ponies from the wrap.

 We took a ride on the wagon, pulled by oxen.  Lil G was very impressed with the oxen and was excited to touch them.

 In the late afternoon, Great Uncle Mark came over with his golf cart and drove Lil G around the yard.  They had so much fun!

 Great Grandpa Bud got to meet Smunchie for the first time.  She really took to him!

Vacation!

 It was Fish Family Vacation time again!  We decided to head up to Wisconsin, in order to have some waterpark sun, without having to be outside the entire time.  Lil G loved it!  Smunchie was pretty indifferent but loved watching everyone play.

We don't have any pictures of the actual water park, because...it's wet!  But, here are some pics of other parts of our vacation.

The kiddos in their towel ponchos.  Very handy for coming home from the parks AND Lil G loved that he and Smunchie were both "stripey".

 Yes, that is our almost-three-and-a-half year old in a stroller.  The walks to and from the waterparks were extensive and sometimes, a preschooler needs to RIDE.

One of the cool things at the hotel was the "Ken-ducky Derby" every morning.  Lil G got to go to the waterpark before it opened, pick a rubber ducky and cheer it on as it went down the lazy river.  The great thing was, on our last day there, Lil G's duck won the derby!  He got a snazzy duck call whistle.

 "Quack, quack!"

On the last day of our trip, we decided to forgo getting wet and, instead, went to play on the four-story playground at the resort.  Smunchie decided to just nap in the carrier instead. 

On the way home, Smunchie decided that she was STARVING, so we stopped at a local cheese shoppe. Outside, there was a giant cow that Lil G thought was "amazing".

After lunch, we stopped at Ella's Deli, to have ice cream for dessert.  Then, Lil G got to ride on the carousel.  Wonderful, wonderful trip!

Getting ready for VACATION!

We're heading out on vacation soon(ish) and we decided to go ahead and get Lil G his own life jacket. He picked it out himself and really enjoyed strutting around the house, to "make sure" that it fit. He is all ready to hit the water!

Wisconsin Dells Vacation!

This last week, our family traveled to the Wisconsin Dells. We stayed in a water park hotel, where Gavin greatly enjoyed the waterslides. Regretably, there are no pics of the water park, since it's quite....wet.

After the Dells, we traveled through Madison. We stopped at a fabulous eatery, Ella's Deli, where we enjoyed lunch and looking at all of the antique toys. Then we went to the Madison Children's Museum, for some fun.

Then, we traveled to Rockford for another night in the hotel. We went to the Rockford Children's Museum. It was a wonderful trip with made for wonderful memories.
