Rain Walk

 Yesterday, we had a wonderful late afternoon thunderstorm- perfect for a rain walk!  Lil G was so excited to see the rain when he woke up from his nap, so mama took him outside to wander around, looking at worms and jumping in puddles.  We even got to hear some thunder!  It is so lovely to be able to share these precious moments with each other, every day and to be able to see the world through a child's eyes.

Maternity pics/ Lil G is Three!

 A couple of weeks ago, we went to get maternity photos taken and get photos taken of Lil G, who is now three!  The photos turned out great, thanks to the talents of Melissa at Tumbling Leaves Photography. 

Memory

 Lil G has recently rediscovered a love for the game, "Memory".  It is wonderful because it is a game that he can primarily play by himself, with no help needed from mama or dada....though he does LIKE to try and get everyone else to play.  We are still working on learning the rules (primarily the one about turning the cards back over if they do not match), but overall, he is doing great!

Still with the Crazy Hair....

 Last week, we went to get Lil G's haircut.  As always, he wanted it shaped into a fauxhawk before we left.  He was pretty excited, however, when the stylist used blue colored gel, so his hair was blue!

Mama was excited that the blue gel came out with the first hair washing :-)

Lil G's New Digs

 In an effort to make more room for the upcoming arrival of baby Minnow, we decided to move Lil G down the hallway to a new bedroom (formally Erin's office) and move the office down to the basement.  This proved to be quite an endeavor, as there IS no bedroom in the basement!  Right now, most of the office furniture is in the guest room and dining room (no one try and stay/eat here for awhile), while Greg finishes the basement room.

But, a few days ago, we did get Lil G all moved into his new "Hairpain" (aka-airplane) room.  He is super excited and transitioned with absolutely no problems.  He hasn't tried to get out of bed at all.  The only time we ran into problems was when he got up to go to the potty in the middle of the night and tried to go back to the nursery :-) 

 We tried to be thrifty with the decorations in the room.  In fact, a lot of the things were repurposed finds- Greg's childhood dresser (repaired) and the toy box.  I (Erin) did buy the posters and one picture frame.  The metal airplanes came from Lil G's grandparents, as did the airplane lamp.  The ZOOM letters above his closet are just wooden letters that I painted.

 Lil G's airplane lamp, from his grandparents (it was Greg's when he was a bit younger).  Greg rewired it a bit to add a switch on and secured it to the top of the bookcase, where curious little hands cannot pull it down.  We leave it on at night for Lil G, as a nightlight.

 This was the only true "splurge" for the room but totally worth it!  A poster of a vintage plane with an inspirational verse from Isaiah, personalized to fit in with our family (check out the name of the plane).  :-)

Lil G has done a great job of keeping most of his little toys in his new toybox.  He adores his new room and plays in there in the morning without complaint.  We do have a new bed on order for him (twin sized), which we'll move him to eventually....with airplane bedding, of course.  It is so neat to see our little man growing up and in his "big boy room".

Magnetic Men

 Lil G has always enjoyed dressing up his Melissa and Doug wooden dolls.  He was so excited when he got three more from his Great Grandma!  He did a great job of pairing up the outfits in the correct order.

Stir Crazy

 Once again, during the illness that swept our house (which was instigated by Lil G, who somehow got the least brunt of it.  He's clearly some kind of carrier), Lil G was stir crazy. How can you tell?  After being told that we could not go swimming, he put on his goggles and swam down the hallway. 

Quiet time

 During the parent's continual illness for many days last week, Lil G spent a lot of time playing quietly with his new toys from his birthday.  One of his favorites was his new LightBright from his Uncle Rodger.  He needs quite a lot of help right now to get the pegs in correctly but he is so proud of all of his creations!
