Zebra Hat!

A few days ago, I let Lil G look at hats online with me.  I was trying to let him pick a winter hat and told him that he could pick from the frog, the zebra or the raccoon hats.  He immediately decided that the zebra hat was the one for him.  I told him that I would order it for him and thought that was that.  Now, I know kids.  I know them pretty well, in fact.  Why I thought that the lil man would understand the concept of ordering something, I'll never understand. 

Lil G spent the rest of the afternoon looking in the dryer over and over.  And over. And over.  Again.  He apparently believes that the dryer is where online hats are delivered.


Needless to say, that evening, I ran out to the store to buy him the hat.  I didn't want to keep repeating the same scenerio.  He adores his new hat and wears it all the time.  And, he looks pretty cute in it, if I do say so myself.

Last Hurrah at the Pumpkin Patch!

 On Halloween, we had our last big trip to the Pumpkin Patch for the year (seeing at it was the last day that it was open).  It has been such a blessing this year to have a place to go to that encourages good ol' fashioned fun for the lil man.

Trick or Treat

 On Halloween, Lil G got to go Trick or Treating for the very first time.  He went with his friends: AS, NS, BL, NP and JP.

They were so cute, all running up to the houses to say "Trick or Treat!"

The weekend before last, we went on the Haunted Trail. While it was supposed to be the non-scary edition of the event, it was pretty intense for little people and the pregnant lady! Lil G LOVED it though, especially roaring at the monsters in his lion costume and telling them, "MONSTERS, GO AWAY!"
On the Thursday before Halloween, we went to a Halloween party given by the local mom's group. Lil G got to practice Trick-or-Treating, by walking around in the "parade" and getting candy from all the mamas and dadas. He was so excited to learn that people will just GIVE you candy if you dress up and say "Trick-or-Treat!"

After the parade, Lil G was allowed to pick one piece of candy to eat. He was so enthralled with the gummy "teeth" he received. Here he is modeling the teeth before devouring them.

Autumn fun

There is a lovely place, near our home, of which many people are unaware. It houses wonderful play areas for children. We visited just a couple of weeks ago, with our friends, the P family. Lil G had a great time playing with his friends. Mama and dada had a great time relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

Lately, mommy and Lil G have been working on shapes and letters by cookie cutting. Lil G is pretty good at it! He does need help with placement of the shapes, in order to not overlap. But, he is learning patience and listening skills along the way.

2011 Inaugural Lighting of the Fireplace

Tonight, it was cold and rainy. Thus, a perfect night to light the fireplace for the first time this fall. G had a great time looking at the fire and warning us all that it is "sooo hot!" It is so nice to be able to show him new and interesting things, even if he technically has seen them before.
