A trip to the Zoo

Last week, we went to the local zoo with one of our favorite families: The Z-pack!  Lil G had a great time with all of his friends, checking out the animals and running amok!

White Family Christmas

 After our Christmas at home, we all headed over to have Christmas with the White side of the family:  James (Papa), Brenda (Tutu), Uncle Rodger, and Glenn (Uncle Pooh).  

Lil G had a blast checking out Uncle Pooh's new flashlight.  He actually seemed to understand it's inner workings before Glenn!

Christmas morning

 On Christmas morning, Lil G let us sleep in until almost 7:15!  After he got up, we all headed downstairs to see what Christmas brought.  Lil G was pretty excited to see the presents under the tree and the stockings, filled and hung over the fireplace.

The first thing he did was come downstairs, sit down and just look at the tree for a bit.  He seemed a little overwhelmed, so mama suggested that we open stockings first.

Lil G continued to be our photographer.  He worked hard to get pics of dada opening his stocking.

After we opened our stockings, it was time for presents!  Lil G was excited for all his gifts: a toy airplane, a new Mr. Potato Head, books, houseshoes and a new blanket.

 For Christmas, Lil G got his very own camera from Uncle Andrew.  He absolutely loves it and he actually takes some pretty decent pictures!  The neat thing is that it really is a digital camera, so he can look at the photos that he took.  Below is a sampling of the pictures that Lil G took on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Elf

 On Christmas Eve, we have a tradition in our family.  The "Christmas Elf" brings new jammies and then Lil G listens to "The Night Before Christmas" , as read by dada.  

Lil G was so excited to try and catch the Christmas Elf.  He even heard the elf giggling as it left the jammies!  He scurried down the stairs and quickly went looking for his new pajamas. 

Lil G was not the best at finding his new PJs.  He looked all around the room, by the tree and even behind his chair--where the jammies were sitting!  Finally, he found them and we put his new duds on him.

 Then, after much cajooling, Lil G settled down to hear the story.  He kept interrupting to ask mama and dada,  "But where the elf go?"  Mama explained about a dozen times that the elf scurries away when he hears people coming.  Finally, Lil G decided that Wembley must have frightened the elf.  It's great how a two year old will just add his own spin to any story.

 Yesterday, we had our traditional Christmas Eve time with the Fish side of the family.  We had a delicious lunch and opened presents.  Lil G had a BLAST!  He got to help everyone open gifts and was pretty excited to receive gifts of his own too!

Ok, first of all, I know that the video is sideways but it is a flaw on my camera phone.  Once I upgrade, hopefully, it will stop.  So, no snarky comments (ahem--Rodger).

Lil G loves "Go Diego Go" AND he loves dancing.  So, it was only natural for the two to come together.

Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus!

 On Tuesday, Lil G went to his Morning out for Moms program at a local church.  It was the day that the kids had their "Happy Birthday, Jesus" party.  Lil G had a great time, and really enjoyed singing to our Lord for all to hear!

 Lil G and his friends played "Pin the Star at Bethlehem".  Lil G was very proud of his accomplishment.

 Lil G opted to snuggle the Baby Jesus, instead of just posing by Him.  He's his own person! He does his own thing.

Lil G was cracking up at the puppet show.  Grandma puppet explained to all the kids about Jesus' birthday cake and why we were celebrating.
