Easter 2012

 Due to Smunchie's arrival, we were unable to celebrate Easter on Easter Day.  We were too busy bringing a new baby home from the hospital!  Then, time got away from us (how did that happen?) and we didn't end up opening our Easter baskets until April 22nd!  Lil G was so excited to help Smunchie open her basket and pretty excited to see his new goodies as well. 

 Smunchie got some new hairbows in her Easter eggs.  She was not a fan of daddy's idea to put them all on her head at once.

Homemade are the best made

 We have been privelidged to receive many handmade gifts for the births of both Lil G and Smunchie.  They mean so much to us, because we know that people were thinking of our little ones.  

Here is a beautiful hat that was handmade by my friend, Sarah and gifted to Lil G originally.  It is the perfect size for Smunchie now and we are getting a lot of use out of it on the chilly-willy days that we have had around here recently.

Lost Umbilical Cord

Smunchie's cord took its sweet time falling off!  It finally vacated on April 22nd (though, I actually think it got caught on her shirt and STILL came off prematurely)!  Here she is with her brand new naked belly.

 Last Sunday, it was time for Smunchie to have a sponge bath--and mommy asked Lil G if he wanted to help.  He was so sweet and gentle with his little sister.  He insisted on using the fishy sponge he had picked out for Smunchie and made sure that she was clean from head to toe.

Welcome Lil Girl!

On Wednesday April 4th, at 4 days overdue, Erin went to the hospital to have the baby.  After 24 hours of labor and almost 2 hours of pushing with no progress, we determined that the baby was just too big to be born naturally and so the doctor recommended a c-section.  It was hard for Erin to accept but in the end, it was definitely the right decision for our family.

On Thursday April 5th, we welcomed the newest addition to our family:  a little girl!  Baby "F", whom mama likes to call "Smunchie", weighed in at a whopping 9lbs, 15 ounces and was 22 inches long.  Greg was able to be in the operating room the entire time and was a tremendous support, throughout labor and delivery.

Lil G has become a wonderful big brother.  He loves his little sister and wants to cuddle her all the time. 

 This was our failed attempt to put the original "coming home" outfit on Smunchie.  It was a little snug.  Sorry, Baby Girl!
