Little Fort Builders

On Sunday, mama came home from a cookie exchange to find a bee-u-tee-ful fort constructed in the living room. Unfortunately, most of the pictures didn't turn out!  But, you can see that dada is laying down on the couch whilst Lil G climbs in and out and in again.  They had a blast!

Happy birthday, Dada!

 On Tuesday, it was Greg's birthday. This year is the first year that Lil G was really old enough to understand what that meant:  that dada gets presents and cake, because we love him! 

Mama took Lil G to the store and let him pick out a gift for his dad.  He spent a looooooooooooong time looking, before finally settling on the perfect gift:  a Spiderman puzzle!

Lil G was so excited when Greg came home from work.  But, he didn't quite understand the concept of keeping Greg's gift a secret.  Instead, he said, "Dada, want to open your gift? It's a PUZZLE!"  It was fine though.  Greg still acted very surprised. 

After he opened his gift, Greg even shared his puzzle with Lil G.  Isn't dada nice?

After dinner, Lil G sang a wonderful happy birthday song to dada.  Both of the boys in our family are very special and are loved very much!

Candyland

On Friday, mama and Lil G were playing a game that he had clearly outgrown.  He was doing the version for six year olds!  So, mama dug out a new game to teach the manbaby:  Candyland!  

Lil G was so excited to learn a new game and even more excited to "teach" dada when he came home.  He did a great job learning the rules, waiting his turn, counting, using his colors and was even a good "loser".  He is growing up quickly and is definitely becoming the little person that we had always hoped he would become. 

Meeting Santa

 On Thursday, we were fortunate enough to be invited to a party for Lil G's speech therapy.  It was held at the local children's museum and they had a Santa available for the kids to meet.  It was so wonderful, since there was no line!  The Santa was phenomenal and very good with all of the kids, including the ones with sensory issues. 

Before we got to the party, Lil G was excited to meet Santa.  He told us again and again that he would sit on Santa's lap and then Santa would sit on his lap.  We told him that Santa could NOT sit on Lil G's lap but he was pretty insistant.  

Once we got there, Lil G was a little more subdued but still walked over to the big guy.  He sat on his lap and told him, "HoHoHo".  It was a wonderful party and we felt so blessed to be a part of it.

Hide-N-Seek

Many evenings, after dada gets home from work, he and Lil G play a rousing game of hide-n-seek.  Lil G is getting much better- he is able to count (almost) alone, he is able to find dada pretty well and he even finds his own hiding places!  It's so wonderful to see him learn new things.

Lil G's spin on the Christmas Story

  

Last night, Lil G and mama were playing with his Little People nativity set (a present from Christmas last year).  Mama told Lil G the story of Jesus' birth in words that a toddler can understand.  

Lil G clearly thought that transportation during biblical times left something to be desired.  You can see a carefully constructed train track, to deliver the wise men to the manger.  Additionally, you can see that Mary was cruising up in a small car.  

It's always nice to put your own spin on things.

FauxHawk

Last night, it was time for Lil G to get a haircut.  The wait was a little long at the barber, so he and dada spent time par-oozing through the hairstyle books.  Lil G loved the picture of the guy with the fauxhawk (aka- the fake mohawk).  So, mama said that he could have his hair styled that way after it was cut.  The stylist was very accommodating and he looked pretty darn cute!
