Baby's first fever

Poor Gavin had a little cough starting on Sunday. By Monday afternoon, he was running a low grade temp. I took him to the doctor and go the dreaded diagnosis- RSV. For those of you who don't know, RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) is a very common virus that settles in the lungs. Most of the time, it just causes cold-like symptoms but for some people, it can be more serious. The doctor said that we caught it very early on. They checked Gavin's oxygen levels and they were at 99 (out of 100), so he is clearly getting plenty of oxygen. The doctor did start him on a breathing treatment, though, just to help clear out his lungs. At the doctor's office, this involved wrestling him into a mask, while he writhed around for 10 minutes. However, at home, he is taking the treatments in stride, chilling with mommy and watching television for babies. His fever seems to be going down and he is still a happy little guy.

January Randomness

Gavin has been very busy recently. So many toys to explore and a puppy to terrorize.

Dog Bed

I recently recovered Wembley's dog bed. She loves her bed, given to her a few years ago by Andrew. BUT...between the constant vacuuming, and chewing on by a puppy, it was showing some wear and tear. So, I made a new cover for it, in a festive print. Wembley seems to enjoy it so far!

Pants?

Yesterday, Gavin was hanging out in the corner, playing with his toys. Then he removed his pants, and brought them over to show Greg and I. This was followed by pulling up on the couch, to show us his pantless legs.

Playing with Opa, Gogie & Uncle Andrew (oh, and Wembley)

On Saturday January 23rd, Gavin got to spend some time with Opa, Gogie and Uncle Andrew. They all had a ball playing together.

Spaghetti Madness

Gavin tried spaghetti for the first time on Friday. He REALLY enjoyed it. He (of course) made quite a mess but got the majority of it in his mouth. He was not really a fan of the meatballs but the noodles and sauce were a major hit!
