Family Pictures 2014

Well, this spring, it was time for family pictures, to commemorate Smunchie turning 2 and Lil G turning 5.  Below are some of my favorites.  Hope you enjoy!

Hungry Caterpillar Turns 2!- April 5, 2014

It is hard to believe that it has been 2 years since our little Smunchie was born.  But, on Saturday April 5, it was time to celebrate her second birthday.  The theme of the party was "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", which is one of her favorite books.  Smunchie had a great time with her family and friends.  Happy birthday, sweet girl!

 As the kids arrived, we made Hungry Caterpillar hats.  The kids decorated their hats and added antennae and eyes.  Then, it was time to wear their creations!

After making hats, it was time to play the Hungry Caterpillar game.  I (Erin) read the story to the kids while they took turns feeding the "caterpillar".  The kids had a blast! We ended up playing the game twice.

After the game, we had dinner. Then, it was time for more games!  We played "Pin the Antennae on the Birthday Girl".  Each kid took a turn playing antennae on a picture of Smunchie.  This was followed by a racing game and making necklaces.  All the kids had so much fun.  It was so great to celebrate our little girl turning 2.

Muddy Madness- July 12, 2014

 Lil G is growing up  He is a sweet, kind little boy and we are trying to teach him to be altruistic. Therefore, when he told us that he wanted to participate in a mud run, we looked to find one that could teach him kindness and compassion.  Lil G decided to do the Muddy Madness mud run, to support St. Jude Research Hospital.  We told him that we would pay the entry fee for him but that he would be responsible for raising as much money as possible for St. Jude, write thank you notes to donors and figure out a way to honor his "sponsors".

 Lil G responded beautifully.  He raised over $400 for St. Jude, wrote thank you notes to his donors AND wrote their names on his running shirt!  He even helped me to write the names on Smunchie's shirt as well!  We are so proud of our little boy and the man that he is becoming.  Here are some pictures from the big day!
