Circus Camp 2013

 We are very blessed in that, because of where we live, there are opportunities for our kids to experience new activities.  One of those happened last week.  Lil G participated in Circus Camp, through the local college.  He practiced all kinds of circus moves for three days and then, he and his circus friends put on a show for all the parents.  He had a blast learning all of the tricks of the trade and was super excited to show us all what he had learned.

 At the beginning of the performance, the kids all did a parade.  Apparently, Lil G decided to dress as an Astronaut....with a bone necklace.

After camp, Lil G was one of two kids asked to interview on camera for the local news!!  The director said that she picked him because she "knew he would talk on camera".  The news did not end up using his interview (probably because he was talking about liking basketball, instead of talking about camp) but it was awesome that he got to experience a real live interview.

Summer Vacation

Earlier this summer, we took a family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells.  It was delightful!  We love going there, for the waterparks and the convenience (we always eat in our condo and walk to the parks several times a day).

Lil G had a terrific time, going up and down the slides again and again.  Smunchie was contented to play in the shallows or ride on the lazy river.  She did give her mama and dada some mild heart attacks by standing up in the raft all the time!

 On the way home, we stopped at one of our favorite places- Ella's Deli!  We love the food, the decor and of course, the carousel!  Smunchie enjoyed her first carousel ride and she and Lil G LOVED growling at dada each time they circled around.

Last Day of School

 Lil G had his last day of school at the end of May.  As many of you know, Lil G has a phonological speech delay.  Because of this, he was involved in the Phonology class at his local school.  We were so blessed for him to be in the class, with his wonderful teachers.

At the end of the year, the class had a "Beach Party".  Lil G was quite excited to go and play with all of his friends and teachers.

Giddy-Up!

 We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends.  A few weeks ago, we were invited out to a friend's farm, where she had a pony waiting for the kids to have rides!  Lil G was so excited.  He kept asking me, "Where is the pony?  Where is it?".  I finally told him that he would KNOW when he saw it.
And, you know what? He knew, all right!

 One of the neatest things was that little Smunchie got to ride the pony too!  She was pretty indifferent during the whole ride but didn't seem to mind it at all!

 After the ride, Lil G and his friend, "C", spent some time digging in the dirt.  They really like spending time together.

 And then, the kids got to take turns feeding the pony!  It was so special and we were so blessed to be included in the invitation.

Pigtails Please

Someone's hair is finally (kind of) long enough for Piggie tails.  

 And, someone else doesn't like to be left out!  Lil G decided to wear 4 tails, mohawk style, to school.  He's such a little sweetie!

 A smile that can melt ANYONE!

Superhero Playdate

A few weeks ago, we hosted a "Superhero Playdate" for my mom's group, at a local park.  The kids came in their best hero-gear and had hero-themed snacks.  There was also an obstacle course, for the "heroes" to run.  Lil G had a blast!  He was so excited to be a real superhero.

Here he is starting off the obstacle course, with his Clark Kent glasses.  The kids then had to change into their hero gear (their masks), jump a "building"  (aka-box), lift a truck and rescue a damsel in distress.

 While Smunchie didn't participate in the obstacle course, she did enjoy watching all the kids being "heroes".
