Playtime

Smunchie has become so expressive lately.  She loves to have floor time (particularly if naked) and is getting close to sitting up.  It is so fun watching her learn to manipulate new things!

Four Months Old

 Smunchie is four months old! How in the world can time fly by so quickly?  She is changing so much every day.  She rolls all over the place, holds up her head like a champ and is getting pretty close to sitting independently!  She is a happy girl, and is a shining light in our lives.  We're so blessed to get to raise such wonderful children.

Stats:

Height- 26 inches (95th percentile)

Weight- 15 lbs, 10oz (80th percentile)

Tongue Twister

Little Smunchie is growing and changing every day.  It seems like she is always discovering something new.  Lately, she has discovered her tongue.  She seems pretty intent on trying to touch her nose with her tongue and luckily, Greg caught some of her antics on film!

Lil G LOVES his sister.  In fact, it's hard to keep him away from her at times!  He loves to snuggle her, make her laugh and generally, just spend time with her.  Any time that she cries, he tells me, "One second, mama.  My sister needs."  Truthfully, many times he's right.  No one can make her smile as much as her big brother. 

I keep waiting for some kind of jealousy to start but it just never rears it's ugly head.  No complaints about that!

Final Fun Run

 Tonight was the last Fun Run of the season.  This has been a great event for Lil G throughout the entire summer.  He has loved running each week and we loved that he was able to learn that you don't always have to win to be a winner! (cheesy, I know).  Tonight, Lil G chose to run with the "Fours" group, so that he could run with his friend, A. 

Tonight was extra special because, being the final run of the season, each of the kids got a trophy to take home!  Lil G was so proud of his prize and promptly put it up on his bookshelf as soon as he got home. 

Good friends are part of what makes these events so wonderful.  After the run, Lil G enjoyed some time goofing off with N and A.

This was Smunchie at the Fun Run. I don't know how she fell asleep like this but she did!  She was in the wrap but wanted to be down in the stroller....and then passed out.  Silly girl.

Just the Way God Made Me

On Wednesday, Lil G and I were driving in the car.  We passed the hospital where I gave birth to Smunchie.  Then, we started having a wackadoodle conversation.  I love conversations with preschoolers!

Lil G: "Mama, that's where [Smunchie] came out"

Me: "Yes.  That's where I had the baby"

Lil G: "When I grow up, I'm gonna have a baby too!"

Me: "Well, girls can have babies.  You can be a daddy when you grow up, though. Just like your daddy"

Lil G: "Boys don't have babies?"

Me: "No.  Boys help but they don't actually have the babies come out of their tummies"

Lil G: "Ok. When I grow up, I'll be a daddy.  And, I'll have a mustache."

Me: "You're going to grow a mustache?"

Lil G: "Yes"

Me: "What made you decide to grow a mustache?"

Lil G: "I just like them."

(pause)

"That's just the way God made me, mama."

  

Needless to say, today, we made the boy a mustache.
